More About Us

Stonesthrow Equestrian Centre was established in 2019 and is the new home of Lamperd Equestrian Services. Previously based on the Bellarine Peninsula, we now offer professional coaching, agistment, horse training & schooling packages as well as our riding school in the heart of Whittlesea, just 38km from Melbourne.

Murray Lamperd is a EA level 2 coach and coach educator with over 30 years experience coaching and mentoring students throughout Australia, New Zealand, Asia and Europe. He is a 5* eventing rider who has represented Australia at many world class prestigious events such as Badminton, Burghley, Luhmuhlen, Aachen, Boekelo and Pau. Murray is a dedicated multidisciplinary coach who focuses on the importance of creating a happy and healthy partnership between horse and rider and establishing solid foundations to support your riding journey.

He provides tailored coaching to support students at all levels.

Our very experienced and safe school horses are available for private and group tuition and provide the opportunity for students to acquire foundational skills, develop techniques and gain confidence in all riding and horsemanship endeavours. The riding school caters from beginner to advanced level riders and is accessible to both children and adults.
